I hate those late minute shoppers, mainly close to closing time, and I know clothing store employees dread it too, but I had no other choice. Since my car is not fixed yet, I've always had to rely on my boyfriend to drive me everywhere. He's a god sent, but I can tell he doesn't really like driving me anywhere besides work and home. It's irritating and makes me feel trapped, but lucky I have my sister. In her words, "she lets me out of my poke' ball." So of course when she was heading to the mall to pick of some boxes for my mother's moving, I had to jump at the chance to get some shopping in.
Maybe it's me or society's view on women and stores, but there is some kind of stress re-leaser in those florescent bulbs or the color of their store decor. Like when I step into the store with it's vibrant color of the clothes and the smell of the new shoes, it just make me feel better. My sister and I used to go shopping all the time when we were mad or need to escape our problems, funny how spending money was actually our problem, and we'd just touch all the new clothes on their hangers and take in the view of the season's hottest trends. It was odd, but some how we felt like everything would be okay and that we definitely needed that new top or dress. So me not being able to escape to the stores or the malls is actually depressing. granted I don't feel the buyers remorse afterwards, but I also just miss the freedom that shopping gave me personally.
So when I was able to even just have that 15 minutes of shopping I raced to make sure my outcome was impressive.
Ever heard the song Going the Distance by Cake?
"The Distance"
Reluctantly crouched at the starting line,
Engines pumping and thumping in time.
The green light flashes, the flags go up.
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup.
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank,
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank.
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns.
Their prowess is potent and secretly stearn.
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down.
The fans get up and they get out of town.
The arena is empty except for one man,
Still driving and striving as fast as he can.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns.
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.
He's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
She's all alone
In her time of need.
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse,
He's going the distance.........
Well that song kinda of explained how I felt when I rushed to Charlotte Russe in hopes for the perfect outfit.
I rushed in and the crop tops and skater skirts were up front, so that was perfect product placement. I knew I had to get a skater skirt that would work with the Kitty crop I got from Bonne Chance Collection a couple months ago. Than I had to find a white crop top to match several skirts I had at home. So I was pretty much new what I was looking for. I grabbed five different types of crop tops in both small and medium. Got two different types of skirts and rushed to the dressing room.
The dressing room employee must of thought I was weird or trying to steal because I was things on so fast that I was starting to get winded. It also didn't help with my nervous making shaky...I'm not the person to take the pressure of rushing to making it on time. So throwing on clothes left to right was starting to make me dizzy, but I was able to find the right size and style of crop that look best on my body structure and the skirt was just a matter of which size fit the best.
One thing that I can't stand with this time period and the image of a girls body is that when I was in high school smalls were to big on me or just fit perfectly. Now that I'm back to my old weight and my tits have shrink I should be able to fit in smalls again, but no that's not the case. Serious women viewers, clothing makers don't make clothes to fit women anymore. Their size fits teens and probably even younger generations. They also like to direct their clothing to the women who's rib cages are not broad. As a broad rib cage owner, I'm kinda of disappointed when I have to up a size because the dress or top doesn't fit over my upper torso. Now you might think it's due to my boobs, but it's not. I'm back to being a proud member of the itty bitty titty committee. Like the smalls won't fit my ribs and boob area but it will my wait and arms. So when I have to up to a medium the stomach and arm area is extremely baggy. I love baggy clothes, because it's like a tent or a blanket it wrapped around you at all times. But sometimes I like to show my curves and not looker bigger than I am. So if anyone has to do this too, than don't feel alone because I'm riding the same big rib cage train too.
Luck for me the crop tops I got were small and actually fit perfectly....imagined that! I'm even happy when the skirt I got was a small too. SCORE!! I get happy when the stuff fits.
After finding some outfits, I went straight for their shoes. I've been switching up my wardrobe colors and black shoes don't go so well with all my light color dresses. So obviously I needed new shoes, what girl would I be if my shoes didn't match my dresses. Lucky for me Charlotte Russe has the best deals on shoes and I was able to get two pairs of shoes for the price of one.
After having issues picking the right shoes, because my first choice was out of my size. (irritated sigh insert here) I was able to check out with enough time to hit up Hot Topic before the mall closed. Yeah that's right I was able to get to the mall at 8:30 pm, which it close at 9 pm, head to Charlotte Russe pick out a couple outfits, try them on, than pick out some shoes and try them on, and pay for them, than head to Hot Topic to look around with time to spare. I was like Flash and my sister was proud of me.
Here's my haul that I able to collect
